The

Build Partner

Agencies

Actually Trust.

Most agencies hit the same wall: strong design, strong client relationships, and not enough technical depth to execute at the level you’re promising. You turn down work, rush builds, or hand it off to someone who doesn’t understand how agencies operate.

Design One Four was built for this exact problem. We work exclusively as a partner behind agency work, not a competitor for it. We won’t pitch your clients, bid on your projects, or take credit for what we build together.

We’ve structured three ways to work together depending on what your agency actually needs. Pick the model that fits, or let’s figure it out on a call.

Three Ways to Work Together

Every agency is different. Some want us running projects end to end. Some need invisible execution. Some just want a trusted technical voice on call. Pick the model that fits, or mix them over time as your needs change.
TRACK 01

Full Studio Partner

We run the project. You stay in the room
Best for agencies that want to bring a full-service studio into a client engagement without losing the relationship. You stay in client meetings. We handle strategy, design, build, and ongoing maintenance. Your clients get a well-run project. You get to offer more without hiring more. This is a collaborative model. We work alongside you, under a shared approach that keeps your agency front and center.

White Label Build

Your name. Our work.
You own the client relationship entirely. We stay invisible. Design One Four delivers clean, well-documented builds that your team can confidently present and maintain. No Design One Four branding, no client-facing communication, no surprises. We’re used to working this way. Your clients never need to know we exist.

Agency Retainer

Not just for a project. For the long haul.
Some agencies don’t need a build partner for every project. They need a reliable technical expert in their corner on an ongoing basis. The Agency Retainer is a monthly engagement with two options, depending on what your team needs most.

Option A: Technical Consulting

Best for design-forward agencies that handle client relationships and creative direction but need a trusted technical voice across their work. Think of it as a senior developer on call for hosting decisions, build scoping, and platform guidance, available before things become problems.

Option B: Managed Maintenance

Best for agencies managing multiple client websites who want to hand off the ongoing technical work entirely. We handle updates, security, content changes, and keep everything running quietly, reliably, under your brand. Pricing is based on the number of sites managed so it scales cleanly as your portfolio grows.

We don’t compete with our partners.

We won’t pitch your clients, bid on projects you’re working on, or take a meeting with anyone you’ve introduced us to. When you bring us in, your relationships stay yours. Full stop. We’re happy to put that in writing.

Frequently Asked Questions

In the White Label and Retainer tracks, never. You're the only point of contact your client sees.
In the Full Studio Partner track, we do join client meetings, but always alongside you and under
a shared approach you control.

Our technical skillset allows us to tackle most website builds. We specialize in WordPress,
Squarespace, Shopify, and BigCommerce. Within WordPress specifically, we work across Divi,
Elementor, Visual Composer, ACF, and custom Gutenberg block builds. If you're working with a
different platform or setup, bring it up on the consultation call. Chances are we can help, and if
we can't, we'll tell you that upfront.

We invoice you, not your client. You handle your client relationship and billing however you
normally would. We stay completely out of that side of things.

Yes. Plenty of agency relationships start as a single white-label project and grow into a retainer
over time as trust builds. There's no lock-in and no awkward transition.

Yes, standard practice. We also don't share client information, project details, or anything about your work with anyone outside the engagement.

Managed Maintenance is priced by the number of sites we're actively managing. We'll put
together a quote based on your current portfolio and what level of support each site needs. Book a consultation and we'll walk through it.

Retainers run on a monthly basis. We ask for a short initial commitment of 3 months to make sure the
engagement is set up properly, then it rolls monthly from there. We'd rather earn the relationship than lock you into it.

It starts with a 30-minute consultation call where we figure out which model fits your agency and what the first engagement looks like. No pitch deck, no pressure. If it's a good fit, we'll scope it
out and get a simple agreement in place. Most engagements can start within a week or two of
that first call.

We're flexible. We can plug into your project management setup, communicate through
whatever channels your team uses, and adapt to how you already run client work. We don't ask you to change how you operate to work with us.

Our business only works if yours does. We don't stay hired by agencies whose clients aren't happy, and we don't grow by doing average work. We genuinely thrive on the success of the agencies we work with, which means every project reflects on us as much as it does on you. That's not a sales line, it's just the reality of how this model works. When your agency wins, we win. That alignment is what makes this partnership different from hiring a freelancer or a vendor.
