For Hot Chihuahua BBQ, a competitive BBQ team, we crafted a brand identity that’s small but mighty, much like the incredible flavors that demand a wider audience. Our design features a fiery chihuahua mascot, incorporating dynamic flame elements to embody their passion for intense, championship-level BBQ – so delicious, they really ought to open a restaurant!

Our objective for Hot Chihuahua BBQ was to create a distinctive and memorable brand identity that would stand out in the competitive barbecue circuit and hint at their potential for culinary expansion. The core inspiration for the design stemmed directly from the team’s beloved pet chihuahua, a playful nod to their vibrant team personality and commitment to bold, unforgettable flavors.

We developed a mascot-driven logo featuring a stylized chihuahua. This isn’t just any chihuahua; we incorporated glasses to give him a unique, perhaps even intellectual, charm, while dynamic flames erupt from around his ears, symbolizing the intense heat and passion they bring to their BBQ.

The entire illustration is rendered in a distinct Pop Art style, utilizing a limited palette of bold, impactful colors. This artistic choice creates a strong visual presence, ensuring the brand is instantly recognizable and memorable, much like iconic pop art pieces. The challenge was to balance the endearing nature of the dog with the fiery heat associated with championship-level BBQ, all while adhering to the clean, vibrant aesthetic of Pop Art. We achieved this through bold lines, an energetic pose for the chihuahua, and a precise selection of vibrant color gradients for the flames, suggesting both literal heat and passionate dedication to their craft. The inherent deliciousness of their BBQ, which consistently impresses judges, is so profound that it begs the question: when will they open their own restaurant?
